Overview
"Spiders In My House" is a 1 through 10 very clever rhyming counting book for very young children. The pages are filled with silly and colorful pictures of various spiders one might find throughout their house in early Spring.
Description
It was in the Spring of 2012 when "Spiders In My House" was created. A friend of mine and I were discussing our terrifying spider encounters that were occurring at that time when the idea for a poem popped into my mind. What started out as a silly poem about the many spiders showing up in my house turned into a very colorful and cute story book. To be exact, it is a rhyming counting book for very young children to help teach them to count in a fun and creative way.
About the author
As a young child, around 8 years old, I developed a love for reading and writing. Not long after, that love grew into a deep passion and I would spend numerous hours writing stories, poems, and even sketching as an added growing talent. As a teen, several of my poems were published in "Poetic Voices of America", 1990, "On The Threshold of A Dream", 1990, and "Moments More To Go", 1990. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland with my single mom and two brothers allowed me the outlet I needed to explore and develop my writing and drawing skills. During my high school years, I took on any and all writing assignments without trepidation. Rarely did I disappoint my teachers, which gave me the encouragement I needed to drive forward with my dreams of becoming a writer. Currently, I reside in the small and thriving city of Gainesville, Georgia with my husband and four children, along with four dogs and four cats. Living in North Georgia has helped to broaden my scope for imagination, giving me the foundation I need to carry on with my works. While my life has taken me down many different roads, I have never let go of my passion and dream for writing and drawing. "Spiders In My House" is my first soon-to-be published book. This counting story began as a poem that I wrote in the Spring of 2012 when two of my children were very young and many types of spiders started popping up in my house every place we went. Those spiders were brought to life in a very silly way through my writing and drawings. I am thrilled to make "Spiders In My House" my first published book and excitedly look forward to the next one! Stay Tuned!
