Laney Montgomery is a successful Southern-born fashion designer living in Los Angeles but when she turns 40, her world suddenly turns upside down. While reconnecting with her family in South Carolina, she discovers the lives of her mother and two older sisters are in disarray. But while trying to fix them, Laney learns that her own marriage is in serious trouble back in California. The affections of a younger man don’t help matters either as Laney must fix everyone else before she can find true happiness for herself. But when she discovers there's more to her new young friend than she first realized, her life becomes even more complicated.
