About the author
Allen Itz is a second-life poet and short story writer. He began to write poetry and short stories while completing college on the GI Bill, published a few pieces, then quit writing for more than 30 years as career and family took precedence. He began writing again in 1998 after retiring from a career as a public service administrator. Since then, he has published five books of poetry, one in print and four eBooks. This book is his first attempt to return to short story writing.
He was born, raised and spent most of his life in South Texas, beginning his life on the border, just a few miles from the Rio Grande River and, after moving north over the years, he now lives in San Antonio. He expects this is where he will stay.
