About the author
Richard Muscio CPA is "THE Family Office Guy."
As a CPA with an estate/gift/trust background, Richard assists Family Offices (ultra-wealthy families) with Estate and Gift Tax Planning, Family Governance and Succession Planning, with the goal of helping wealthy families to thrive.
Richard speaks frequently on the topics of Family Governance, Professional Collaboration, Business Succession Planning, Business Leaders as Community Leaders, and "The CPA Firm of the Future." You can view his presentations on these topics on his YouTube channel. He also hosts a weekly radio show "It's Your Money...and Your Life" on 760 AM KFMB, where he discusses wealth as being much more than just money.
Richard's work also includes co-authorship of "The Rise" with best-selling author Greg Reid. "The Rise" is about collaboration and never giving up on one's dreams. "So, What's Your Play?" recounts Richard's experiences in 1973, when he was the 14-year old scrapbook maker for the famous tennis player Bobby Riggs, Billie Jean King's protagonist in "The Battle of the Sexes" during the Women's Liberation movement. Using his involvement in these historical events as the background, Richard looks back 40 years in time, after both losing and then regaining his eyesight, to express how community volunteerism can break down the barriers that intolerance puts up.
He is also co-Founder of the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation and the Oceanside Turkey Trot osideturkeytrot.com. His Foundation works to improve teen fitness and senior generation fitness in the Oceanside area, while encouraging family participation and community volunteerism. If you think you had a lot of people over for Thanksgiving, well, Richard hosted more than 9,000 runners and 14,000 people this past Thanksgiving morning in downtown Oceanside, raising over $100,000 for charities.
For fun, Richard is a long-distance endurance runner, having completed the 2012 Boston Marathon in record-breaking heat. Best of all, Richard is the father of Evan (22), Mia (21) and Demi (17) with his lovely wife Mari, who enjoys beating him in running events.
