When Henry learns that everyone must stay sheltered in their homes to help stop the spread of a "nasty bug", he is confused, angry, and sad. He loves school and playing with his friends. What will he and his parents do if they can't go to work or to school? Follow along as Henry discovers the best parts about being at home. Share in the adventures that Henry uncovers on the internet. See how he and his family make the very best of a bad situation. This is a story about community, kindness, and compassion, and how each one of us can make a difference in the lives of others when we hunker down, do our part, and commit to something greater than ourselves.

Description

As we all struggle to meet the challenges of living through the present COVID 19 pandemic, I felt it was appropriate to write a children's book that would meet the needs of our children who, like all of us, are deeply affected by these unprecedented times. Certainly the lives of our children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and all young people have been turned upside down as well. The story of Henry is one that opens the conversation about the confusion, sadness, isolation, and fear that our children are dealing with as they are quarantined at home, denied the structure and comfort of routines, and feeling out of control as are the adults around them. This book is written as a tool for parents, teachers and all advocates of children to help our younger generation through a scary and confusing time. 100% of the royalties from this book will be dontated to Direct Relief/COVID 19 to provide essential PPE for healthcare professionals risking their own lives caring for the rest of us across the United States.

Shoo! Nasty Bug, Don't Bother Me! A wonderful story in a scary time for all of us. There are very few resources for teachers, parents, and all child advocates to help answer the questions and calm the anxieties of children's minds living through a global pandemic. This little gem is a must for families, schools, libraries, pediatricians, social workers, etc. What a wonderful way to support our children and donate to the cause of PPE for frontline workers across the country!
