Using the "Jewish Quota" as its backdrop, Secrets or Lies weaves together two love stories set seven decades apart. In pre-Holocaust Vienna, a young couple falls deeply in love, only to be separated by war, politics, and fate. Their romance appears simple until letters and journals surface decades later. In the present day, their grandchildren—living in different corners of the world— uncover these long-buried documents and begin to question everything they believed about their family histories. Was the love between them and their grandparents genuine, or a carefully crafted cover for something far more complicated? As the past and present collide, the truth forces the grandchildren to confront issues of trust, identity, and the painful choices made for love and survival. The story unfolds into a poignant exploration of how secrets, often born of necessity or fear, can shape generations, blurring the line between concealment and deception.
