Seasons of Separation (S.O.S), is an autobiographical work of poetry and prose based on a true story and inspired by Ugochi Nwaogwugwu's family immigrant experience from Nigeria to Chicago around the time of Biafra to the present. Seasons of Separation (S.O.S), is a vulnerable, beautiful story about the love , determination and adversity that thrives across continents, even when family ties are broken. This story gives anyone courageous enough to experience it, insight into the troubled reality that America and Nigeria share. It also shows a world beyond the beast-like behaviors of many as well as the beauty that triumphs within the heart and soul of disadvantaged individuals living in a country torn apart by greed and indifference. America is a melting pot of characters and cultures, making it a savory stew of people and ways of life. How do foreigners create home in a strange land? S.O.S is a must read for any outsider searching for a place of healing and belonging.
