This book is for anyone who has ever asked themselves, “Should I see a doctor?" Unfortunately, many people die every day from preventable illnesses. Too many deaths occur because people wait too long to seek medical advice and fail to recognize the signs their bodies give them that they should go to the hospital. The goal of this book is to educate patients and help them avoid these preventable deaths. I have studied the human body for more than twenty years, and I never cease to be amazed by its complexity. I love the fulfillment from being a physician and I count it as a privilege to be welcomed into the lives of my patients.I also consider it a God- given blessing that I may use my medical training and skills to improve- and sometimes- to save lives. As a physician, it is my duty to keep my patients healthy, and I believe that the best way to do that is through education. There is truth to the old saying that " Knowledge is power." Patients should have a basic understanding of how their bodies work and how to keep themselves and their families healthy and safe. Doctors can form important relationships with their patients by teaching them about their bodies and keeping clear lines of communication open. This teamwork can produce better health results for patients. This book is designed to be used as a handbook that you can carry with you and refer to whenever you have a question or concern about your health. It describes the functions of the body and focuses on the important signs of medical problems that should cause you to seek medical help. The book concludes with a section that you with the help of your primary care physician.
