Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of a Dominican immigrant and single mother, Deyanira writes from the intersection of survival, softness, and self-invention. Her work lives in the tension between what the world demands of women and what women quietly reduce to surrender. A certified yoga instructor, accountant by training, and lifelong observer of human behavior, she moves between structure and instinct, logic, and emotion—bringing a rare duality into her creative voice. After two decades working in accounting and real estate across New York City, she began turning inward, translating the precision of numbers and systems into something more fluid—poetry. Her writing is intimate, raw, and unflinching. It explores womanhood, desire, identity, and the inherited weight of being a daughter of immigrants in a city that both builds and breaks you. Currently, Deyanira is based in the New York area, continuing to write, create, and expand her work at the intersection of poetry, visual storytelling, and live experience.
