She is very happy living in the Lowcountry but one day she and her family move to the lake in the Foothills. Roxy is very sad and worries about making new friends in this new environment. But soon she explores and discovers new adventures in her lake home and even makes new friends. About the author
Tracy Csoka Gansrow is a formally trained painter and award winning artist. She was born in Heirlin, Holland. As the daughter of an Army officer, she traveled extensively, finally settling at the USMA, West Point, NY. With all her travels she was exposed to many cultures that influenced her creativity. At age 9 was enrolled at the Bethlehem Art Gallery, NY to study oil painting under the late Hudson Valley Artist, John Gould. Her passion was sparked. She was accepted into the prestigious Philadelphia College of the Arts, PA. but chose to stay close to home and attend the State University of New York where she studied painting, art history, and received her degree in Art Education. She continued her education by earning a certificate in computer design at Long Island University. Tracy's work experience always kept her close to the arts in some capacity. She was an art instructor at West Point Arts & Crafts, USMA and taught painting, drawing, framing, ceramics and stained glass. Over time Tracy held various jobs in the art field to include being a muralist, an art teacher, a freelance artist, and a digital artist for ImageInfo, a NYC based software company that worked with reknowned fashion designers. She later opened her own art studio, TCG Studio, in NY where she taught painting classes and displayed her work. She has exhibited her work in multiple juried art shows and places of business throughout the NY area. In 2011 Tracy and her family relocated to Mount Pleasant, SC. where she focused on her painting. She was an active member of the Charleston Artist Guild as well as the Mt Pleasant Artists Guild, where she served as the Scholarship Chairperson and the Membership Chair. She also served on the steering committee of the Perspective Gallery and assisted in the startup of the now very successful gallery in Mt Pleasant. Tracy has exhibited in several prestigious galleries in Charleston to include the Spencer Art Gallery, Charleston Artists Guild Gallery and Perspective Gallery in Mount Pleasant, SC. and currently is a member of the Trade Alley Art Gallery in Hickory, NC. She was the recipient of numerous awards in NY, SC, and NC. Tracy's work has been chosen to be a part of the permanent collections of the cities of North Charleston and Mount Pleasant and graces the homes of private residences and commercial businesses alike. She currently resides in North Carolina with her family and her puggle Roxy, the inspiration for her illustrations and story "Roxy, the Funny Face Pup"Her work can be found in the Trade Alley Art Gallery in Hickory NC.
