Rhymes and Reasons

Born and educated in the Netherlands, Yvonne married and relocated to Australia when she was 19 years old. She lived in Tasmania for five years where she ran a local newspaper with her husband and supplemented their income by picking hop and working at a cafe. While living in Tasmania she discovered her love of gardening. Two children and five years later the family moved to Sydney, where they lived for another five years, before traveling the outback of Australia, managing the acquisition of claims on behalf of a private mineral exploration company in Sydney. After the outback venture the family traveled back to Europe. Then, in 1984, they joined relatives in New Zealand and decided to settle there.
