Credited with being the first African American female composer and producer in the advertising/record industry, Deborah McDuffie is an award-winning pioneer and "behind the scenes" legend. McDuffie has an impressive career featuring production, live performance, composing, arranging, coaching, marketing, advertising, special promotions, education, and lecturing. Fondly known in the industry as the "jingle queen," McDuffie has composed for, produced, performed, and worked with superstars Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Janet Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass, Gladys Knight, Michael Jackson, Al Green, Patti Labelle, Dr. Maya Angelou, Michael Bolton, BB King, Nina Simone, Will Smith, MC Hammer, and more. She has performed at Saturday Night Live, Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, and the world-famous Apollo Theatre. McDuffie launched JQueen Records in 2022 and appears in the Luther Vandross documentary, "Luther Vandross-Never Too Much."
