Ramblings of a Beagler

This book is a celebration of the beagle as both a pet and loyal hunting companion. It is a collection of the author's experiences with these wonderful little canine gems from their birth to their death. Hopefully, the reader's love for beagles and/or hunting will be ignited (or rekindled) by the sharing stories of real people and the bonds formed by their common interest (obsession?) known as "beagling" .

This book is a celebration of the beagle as both a pet and loyal hunting companion. It contains somes tips and pointers but is not a just a "how to" book, It is instead a collection of stand alone chapters relating the author's experiences with beagles from their birth to their death. The ultimate goal was to affirm (or ignite or rekindle) the reader's love for beagles and/or hunting. It is about beagles, people, relationships, and bonds formed based on common interest (obsession?) known as " beagling". It is hoped that all readers will take away something from the book. For the novice beagler, the hope is that some "how to" knowledge will be gained. For those with more knowledge, the hope is that this work will bring them a smile and the realization that they are not the only "beagle nut" in existence!

Growing up in rural Georgia, I spent much of my spare time in the outdoors. I began hunting and fishing with my father when I was very young. I have harvested most game species in Georgia and have caught most of the freshwater fish found here as well. However, my ultimate passion is breeding, training, and hunting beagles. I have owned countless beagles as both pets and as hunting companions. I have participated in NKC/ARHA and a few AKC trials as well. I am the present secretary, past president, and a board member of CSRA Beagle Club. However, my favorite activity is running/hunting my beagles with my family and friends. In working with beagles so long, I have become familiar with all aspects of beagling and developed a passion for these wonderful little canines. My love for beagles has lead to them permeating my life and earning me the title "beagle man" in my social circles. Lord willing, I will own beagles until the day I die!
