Overview
The son of a Long Island University Brooklyn Professor, and Far Rockaway elementary school principal, he was born Carl Garrick Smith Jr honing his talents in New York. A big headed, Chris Rock looking kid with a gap the size of a mini van navigated the world with no clue on who he was for years. Constant fear of stepping out of his comfort zone, and feeling alone lead him to paths of self-destruction. I have no idea why I am writing this in the third person. Apparently, it makes it really suspenseful or something. Anyway, all of that changed in 2017. That is when the true marathon began.

You ever wondered what life would be like if you put the effort in to be the best version of yourself? Me neither honestly. I'm guessing you thought I was going to go into a really compelling and deep perspective on how we each can be the individual we dream to be. Partially right. The reason it is partial is that I am not the person to give advice on how you should reach your pinnacle. I am the person that will be the martyr for how I was not for so long and then made the shift to be a better version of myself. I'm also the person that will be as vulnerable as possible, so you can reflect on your own life and improve yourself. We each somehow popped out into this world with innate abilities that we may never reach because we are too scared to fail. We are too afraid that we will be judged by others. To be honest with you, I am afraid too. I am also excited though. Why would I be excited you ask? I know you really didn't ask, but this is my book and I'll ask and answer for you bro. It is always best to understand that with each failure is a lesson. With each failed relationship, or position that we lose, it is time to turn inward and see to it that you can venture into the world with your head held high, and your sphincter intact. So give this book a shot. I'm by no means any Les Brown or Tony Robbins, but that probably makes this better. I have a Monday through Friday position, and a 401k just like you. I eat budget meals when I am tight on money just like you. I also binge-watch Netflix series all day during the weekends and contemplate what my life is about just like you. We are the same, you and I. I promise you, we really are, and I'll prove it.
