About the author
Vikki R. Franklin is a Southern California native and proud African American mother of two adult sons and one grandson. A former preschool teacher, Vikki has over ten years of experience in the classroom and an additional 25 years in child development programs. With a master's degree in early childhood education and a bachelor's degree in business, Vikki has dedicated her life to working with young children.
Her storytelling journey began when she heard a child say the darndest thing, which sparked an interest in capturing the hilarity (and wisdom) of childhood through writing. Based on true events, circumstances, and themes that she wants to share with you, Vikki's personal essays offer informative takes on family, parenting, and Black culture.
