May 15,2018 is the day that completely changed the direction of Lesley's life. She was a very active fifty-five-year-old woman and was not one to sit still. But that would soon change. Lesley was told she had two to five years to live, and she has proven them wrong. She has lived with ALS for almost eight years. In those eight years she has been an advocate and voice for all those battling ALS and continues to do so despite losing her speaking voice to this cruel disease. But Lesley has learned just how strong her faith really is, and that is something that ALS can't touch. You will feel her anger and frustration as she fights for the right to have access to a treatment that she could feel work in her body and doctors witnessed how it worked in her body. About The Author


Lesley was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart, and they have three beautiful children. The family has expanded. They are blessed with twelve grandkids and four great grandkids. Lesley was an active member of her church, her community and her family. She instructed a weight lifting class at the YMCA and one day her barbell felt a little heavier than normal and she noticed some of her muscles twitching. As time went on, she started tripping and eventually falling. After nearly one year of testing, she was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. Also known as ALS. She has been an advocate and voice for all those battling this disease and continues to do so, even though ALS has stolen her voice. Lesley and her husband Mike continue to navigate their way down this unexpected road. together.
