D.B. Guillory was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. At age fourteen he began writing poetry to express his most inner thoughts. His talent was only shared with a select few. After graduating from high school D.B. moved to Houston, Texas to continue his post secondary education at Texas Southern University, and he continued writing. Upon graduation from Texas Southern D.B. lost his voice, and a seven year hiatus ensued. At age thirty-three his life was in transition. His pen and pad were there to comfort him. It was during this transitional period that D.B. decided to share his words with the world. Currently he performs at poetry events around Greater Houston, and enjoys inspiring his audiences. He hopes his words, and actions can encourage those around him to strive for greatness no matter their circumstances.
