Papa's Garden is a book that contains a series of letters from a grandfather to his nine grandchildren. The author, being recently diagnosed with an ominous adult lymphoma, embarks on a project of drawing on his lifetime of experience as a physician and award winning gardener to share the important things he fears he may not be there in person to pass on. It is filled with beautiful photos of the author's garden and heart-felt and personal words that express both timeless wisdom and great affection.
In this book a grandfather insures that the things he had hoped to be sure and pass on to his grandchildren are indeed passed on. The combination of beautiful photography and heart felt personal words is moving and full of metaphor. These are life lessons worth moving from one generation to the next, related with passion and openness with beautiful prose. The letters are personal and timeless and make all who read it want to be a part of Papa's Garden.
