About the author
Amy is a singer, songwriter, music producer, and children's book author with a passion for creation, which drives her to do what she does. She has always had an interest in writing and achieved success early on, while she was in elementary school, when a story she wrote placed in the Young Authors Contest. For several years she's been focused on songwriting and it was during this process that a song she began writing sparked the idea for her very first children's book, Paint Town Tales-The Draw, and it has placed her back into the realm of writing stories. She is excited to say that this is the very first book in a series that will continue to entertain and teach kids about color and art. "I've always learned best when the learning was done in a creative way", stated Amy. "To know I've helped kids learn and they have had fun in the process is all I can ask for. I'd like to know that I've made a difference in this world and that's what this and the songwriting is all about, adding a little something extra to this world and making it a special place for all of us." Amy still is currently active in songwriting and as a member of the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, she has had the honor of having her songs aired on radio stations, competing in the Colgate Country Showdown, being a semi-finalist in the Independent Music World Series, having her video "H.U.G." featured on Great American Country Television, being in the top 10 on ourstage.com, being an opening act for Mark Chesnutt, and having her song "H.U.G." chosen as the theme song in a fundraising campaign for North York General Hospital in Toronto, ON, CA. Most recently, she has songs being recorded by independent artists Kendall Levin and JaQuay Young and her newest release, without surprise, is "Mr. Green", which is about one of the main characters in her book, “The Draw”.
