Overview

For the aspiring student with a full-time life—job, family, and other obligations—taking online college courses can be the perfect way to pursue an education. But you may have questions about how it all works. While the online class experience is different, there are many similarities to an in-seat class. The challenge is reaching a level of comfort and understanding the online learning environment. Online College Success: Prepare, Manage, And Achieve Success in Online Education is the guidebook you need to help you meet that challenge.

Description

Online College Success will help you get a quick start, establish good habits, and be successful as an online student. In addition to helping you prepare for your first class, you will explore techniques that successful students use in managing their online education, as well as strategies to make the most of the different activities, such as participating in discussions and writing papers. By the time you’ve finished reading this book, you’ll be ready to succeed not only in your education, but in the life it will open up for you.

About the author

Jim has been teaching non-traditional students for 10 years. In the past five years, he has taught 1000's of students in over 150 classes, most of which were online, at three regionally accredited colleges and universities. In addition to teaching, Jim draws on his own experience earning over 200 credit-hours as a non-traditional student, culminating in two master's degrees, one of which was completed entirely online. Prior to teaching full-time, he worked for a university managing the day-to-day activities of a center for adult and graduate students working with students from application to graduation. His passion is to help adult students who are entering college for the first time or returning to college develop the skills and strategies to be a successful online college student.
