Overview
In the book, Tim shares the intimate details of his personal demons and the struggles he faced while turning his life around. The inspiration for the title came from famous Cherokee Proverb that explains we all have two beasts inside us, one that represents all that is good and the other that represents all that is evil, in the end the beast who wins is the one we feed the most. Throughout Tim's life, he has given into both and either paid the price or reaped the rewards. In addition to the great sales and marketing stories, readers will be able to relate to the constant struggles we all face and will be inspired by Tim's authentic and transparent approach to dealing with adversity and in the end, realizing the rewards of never giving up and not letting the past define you. No More Hiding is the prefect book for people of all ages who have dealt with adversity, uncertainty, addiction, low self-esteem. It is also meant as a guide for entrepreneurs who must deal with the challenges of an all-in lifestyle.
Description
Why I wrote this? We all make mistakes. Starting life as a drug dealer and convicted felon at eighteen was not what I had hoped for, but that's where I was. The lessons I learned from my all consuming addiction to cocaine and subsequent one year stay in a 1980's residential treatment center played a major part in my desire to never go back. Life is hard. My career as an entrepreneur came with lots of sacrifice and constantly tested my ability to keep going forward, away from my past. The title No More Hiding represents the decades I spent shielding my past from friends, employers and the community. I was ashamed and worried what would happen if certain people found out. But I am ashamed no longer. Writing the book with all the ups and downs, crazy stories, lessons learned became part of the healing process. My goals for this book are first and foremost to remind us all, it's never fatal "til it's fatal." I would go on to lean on this concept many times. I want to inspire men and women of all ages to pursue their dreams while understanding the trade-offs. I want them to know that anything is possible and we all struggle along the way. Success and failure are not permanent states, and for those who suffer from occasional lack of confidence, low self-esteem, and fear of failure– the past does not have to define you. I also want them to recognize the importance of people in their lives, understanding that none of us is perfect and that you can’t love half a person; you must love the whole person, including the good and bad beasts who battle within.
