Great Book My Ride on the Planet Earth is Brilliant in all areas. The cover is attractive and unique. The print is an easy-to read style and size. There are lots photos that are clear and clean. The story of Charley’s life from “Starting my Ride (1938) to today (2021) is fascinating and amazing. I repeat, lots of high-quality pictures, many memories of his life including the fourth grade, very vocal about his likes and dislikes—specially algebra and certain crew meals—and technical aircraft events. A picture of the Andean Condor is included. He describes his 25 military years in a real-life manner (those readers from his era will recognize many similar situations). Military wives will also identify with Judy and the excitement of the military: i.e. “Hi Honey, I am going on a not accompanied duty tour tomorrow”. Or, being a new mother and being at home alone with a new baby. I really enjoyed identifying with some of Charley’s experiences—low visibility approach with no divert or missed approach available, big bunches of local civilians crowded into the aircraft, bird strikes, really great commanders (and some not so great) --although I was in a different service. His life after the military continues as a pilot and is equally stimulating. I recommend Charley’s book to everyone. It, and a glass of Readers Choice, is a great way to enjoy an afternoon or evening.HR Read more
