About the author
David Lawrence has had a love affair with Europe since he
produced his first Television Movie over a whirlwind 5-week
schedule shooting in London, Paris, Rome and Amsterdam.
“Tourist”, based on the novel by Gerald Greene, a co-production
of Lawrence’s Castle Combe Productions and 20th
Century-Fox, starred Bonnie Bedelia, Bradford Dillman, Adrienne
Barbeau and Marisa Berenson with a script by Norman Hudis and
Lawrence.
As a Writer/Producer, David Lawrence has been under contract
to 20th Century-Fox, Procter & Gamble Productions, Tribune
Entertainment, Taft Broadcasting, and Chuck Fries Entertainment.
Lawrence’s credits as Writer/Producer include “Consenting
Adult” starring Marlo Thomas and Martin Sheen, an ABC
Television Movie based on Laura Z, Hobson’s bestseller.
“The Fashion Awards”, ABC Musical Variety Special starring
Diahann Carroll, Ken Berry, Juliet Prowse, and John Davidson
costumed in the work of major fashion designers.
“That’s Hollywood” – a 72 half-hour clip Series for ABC for three
seasons focused on the best of the movies in specific genres,
and hosted by Tom Bosley.
“M*A*S*H”, a one-hour CBS Special retrospective in the last year
of the series.
“Ken Follett’s The Key To Rebecca” 4-hour Miniseries with Cliff
Robertson, David Soul, Season Hubley, and David Hemmings,
filmed in Tunisia.
“Helen Keller: The Miracle Continues”, Television Movie based on
the book by Joseph P. Lash with Blythe Danner, Mare
Winningham and Perry King, filmed in England.
“Voyage of Terror: Hijacking of the Achille Lauro” starring Burt Lancaster, Eva Marie
Saint, Robert Culp and a multi-national supporting cast, 6-hour
Miniseries filmed on the actual ship and in her ports along the
Mediterranean from Italy to Egypt to Israel.
“TV: The Fabulous 50’s”, retrospective NBC Special hosted by
Lucille Ball, Red Skelton, Dinah Shore, David Janssen, Mary Martin
and Michael Landon.
“Search For Tomorrow”, final year of the series for NBC.
“Vendetta” starring Eric Roberts, Carol Alt and Eli Wallach, and
the sequel “The Young Mafia”, each a 4-hour Miniseries filmed in
Rome, New York and Montreal.
Currently, David Lawrence has published his first novel, “Murder
in Merry Old”, which not surprisingly features as its central
character an urbane, elegant and very rich travel authority who
occasionally takes a dozen well-heeled tourists on a very special
trip to exotic locales. Projected as a series of contemporary
