Miya's Story

This is a children's picture story book featuring a kokeshi named Miya as the main character. Miya, the kokeshi, doesn't feel like she fits in with the other traditional kokeshi because she looks different and is shaped different. When her owner downsizes, she is sent to live with Hana. Later Hana marries a military man, and they move several times. After traveling to Okinawa with Hana and her family, Miya learns she is a kokeshi from Okinawa. She meets her Okinawan kokeshi cousins and finally feels like she fits in.
