About the author
Michael Wizer is a clinical psychologist with a practice in
Cincinnati, Ohio. He started meditating as a teenager, learning
from many respected teachers from the United States, Burma,
Thailand, Korea, and Japan. He had the good fortune to travel
and study for a year with the renowned scholar of comparative
religion, Huston Smith. His doctoral dissertation was about the
Stress Reduction Clinic of Jon Kabat-Zinn, the leader in bringing
mindfulness into healthcare. Before becoming a psychologist,
Wizer taught meditation and has continued to do so throughout
his professional life.
As a painter, woodworker, and dancer, much of Wizer's life
has been dedicated to the arts. He approaches psychology with
a philosophical bent and calls his field of interest and research "The Art of Living."
