Overview
"Marguerite, Wipe Your Feet" is a fun, playful, read-aloud rhyming picture book that shows children how their shoes are a common vehicle for bringing germs into the home and helps them understand the importance of leaving germs outdoors.
Description
Marguerite, the busy bee, indulges in many fun outdoor activities and after a hop, skip, jump, and a rain-stomping day, Marguerite heads home to get something to eat. Plop goes her foot inside the door, but she's immediately stopped. Marguerite learns that bird splats, dog poo, grass, gum, or sticky goo could have hitchhiked to her house on the soles of her shoes. Phew! "Marguerite, Wipe Your Feet" highlights the importance of leaving germs outdoors.
About the author
Vikki Franklin is a southern California native and mother of two adult sons and a grandson. She represents the marginal voice of African American women. She has worked in the field of child development for over thirty years, from teaching preschoolers to managing early childhood programs. In addition, she has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. What she's learned about young children in the last thirty years is that they say the darndest things, which has led her on her storytelling journey. The stories she writes are based on true events, circumstances, and themes.
