After a successful and varied carrier in various venues, Hoenmans started a small farm, wanting to have a sustainable operation. A lifetime of enjoying good food, and cooking to appeal to her own preferences as well as friends and family, led to working on things that became popular items at farmers markets (where allowed). Several years of sharing interactions with the animals on the farm, coupled with the recipes friends and customers were asking about, finally motivated her to spend the time to prove the recipes and write them down.
Little Book of Eats originated from both time spent in the kitchen with my mother and her mother, learning how to cook, and, as a mature adult, wanting to just enjoy cooking, making cheese, making things using farm fresh products, and sharing.
