Overview
How often have you stated or heard someone say, "If I only knew then what I know now?" After facing many challenges and enduring much hardship, Thompson believes that we don't have to personally suffer through mistakes to mature. After all, a better me, makes a better we.
Description
Growing up without a mother was challenging. Being the eldest of four children and assisting her father with raising her siblings while he worked, forced her to learn and grow quickly. Thompson couldn't afford to be immature, foolish, and carefree like most of her peers. In this book, Thompson shares a few nuggets of wisdom that she has gathered throughout her journey in life. She hopes that by being transparent, she encourages others to become vulnerable, yet confident enough to share their experiences to help someone else avoid those same pitfalls. A vision was birthed with the goal of rebuilding the concept of unity and community: one woman, one family at a time. Jamie encourages women to discover and develop their individual gifts and talents, using them to teach and support one another. The idea of "a better me is a better we" inspires women to pour into themselves that which they often pour into those they love and care for.
About the author
Jamie A Thompson is a mother of four and an ordained minister, born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. At the age of nine, Jamie assumed the primary care of raising her younger siblings due to her mother passing away early from illness. Jamie would soon discover that God would take the palette of pain to create an amazing masterpiece like Ladies of Grace Chi, a women's organization founded on July 3, 2020. After God, Jamie's greatest passion is people. Life's trials cultivated her ability to transform pain into purpose. She was awarded knowledge and wisdom after going through and growing through these experiences. Through her writings, she hopes to provoke critical thinking and self-reflection that ultimately will motivate others to pursue inner healing that leads to a better self. That is the inspiration for this first book.
