Description

Set in California and the Philippines, this story follows a Vietnam Vet, turned Naval Intelligence contractor, Jim Russell. He reconnects with Dave, his comrade from the war. Together, they search for the people who had his love, Tammy, killed. They are propelled into a world of drug lords and intrigue, not knowing who to trust. When a typhoon and tsunami devastate the southern Philippines, their mission is interrupted when they help with recovery efforts. As Jim deals with the heart breaking loss of yet another loved one, his desire for revenge and personal betrayal, and the aftermath of natural disasters, he searches for meaning and inner peace and the hope that God really exists.

About The Author

Joel (Joe) Cochran grew up on a large cattle farm in northern Indiana. He joined the Navy at 18 and is proud of having served his country during the Vietnam War. His life work was in the commercial construction industry and he dabbled a bit with writing during his working years. But it wasn't until he retired that he wrote and published his first book, Red Dirt, based loosely on his experiences in special services in Vietnam. His second book, while not a sequel, does revisit characters and settings from his first novel. He is married and lives in sunny Florida.
