Just for Matt

The Breitlings story continues, as Matthew has grown up! He is now 31 years old and he is Uncle Matthew to 13 nieces and nephews. It is the Breitlings wish to continue to share their very personal story, as Matthew was diagnosed with Achalasia in 2013, and again, they almost lost him. But Matthew is such a gentle soul, but with a fighting spirit, he survived in 2013 and he continues to be an inspiration to all who meet him!

The story of the Breitling family continues as Matthew Breitling has grown up! He is now 31 years old, some of his sisters have married, and he is Uncle Matthew to four nieces and nine nephews! It is the Breitling's wish to continue to share their very personal story to help others. Matthew was diagnosed with Achalasia in 2013, and again, they almost lost him. But Matthew is such a gentle spirit, and yet he is a fighter! He survived in 2013 and he continues to be an inspiration to all who meet him!

JoAnn Breitling is a 64 year old mother of seven, grandmother of 13, who resides in Texas. She has been married to her husband Samuel for 45 years. She is telling their family story which is a labor of love. Their only son Matthew was born in 1983 with Down syndrome. While doctors in 1983 called him an accident of God, the Breitlings have considered their son a blessing! When he was diagnosed in 2013 with Achalasia, a very rare disease of the auto-immune system, JoAnn felt even more compelled that the rest of his story be told. Pure love and inspiration!
