Journalitry

The concept for the book that became Journalitry arose one day as I thought back about the writing I had published within four books, and began to realize that I was sub consciously composing some of my work within the basic frameworks of journalism, journaling and creative writing. There were clearly stories about news items of the day, personal experiences, and personal loss, but there were also threads and layers of politics, religion, cultural differences, and my long held beliefs and emotions spliced together with the techniques of a poet. I soon found myself thinking about the individual composition of the pieces and their time in my space and history. And once I began to think of them as my next publication, I thought wouldn't it be a novel idea to come up with a name that fit all the pieces of the puzzle together. Journalitry came to mind. I love the word as much as I love the work.
