About the author
Born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in 1955, Jerry Penhollow has spent his life employing the values and work ethic he learned growing up on a farm. From the time his was old enough to help with chores, Jerry learned the true value of tough, honest work and the importance of contributing to the welfare of his family. Jerry has spent his life employing the values he learned as a kid. He served his county by enlisting in the Air Force and was active duty during Vietnam War. His military service honed his values to commitment, duty, honor, and trust. Jerry graduated from college, built a successful computer business of 30 years and retired. Bored of retirement he returned to school, and currently works in the medical field as a Hearing-aid Instrument Specialist. While material success is an important component of well-being, Jerry constantly works to prioritize caring for family, helping friends, and stepping in to assist when those in his community call for help.
As a young man, Jerry's search for spiritual direction and fulfillment led him to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Based on his faith, the teaching of his church, and his life experience Jerry formulated these 21 concrete rules to guide him on his temporal journey. He has worked tirelessly on this book. Here, Jerry puts his rules in order, with real life stories, scriptures and spiritual teachings to illustrate how these rules have helped guide him through tough times and blessings. In sharing his rules, Jerry hopes to encourage and inspire you, dear reader, as you make your way on your own temporal path.
Jerry splits his time between Florida and the town he calls home, Dubuque, Iowa. He lives with his with his beautiful, saintly wife, Christine. Together they have five children, 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jerry and Christine host young missionaries and are active in their local church.
