Nancy Coury is the author of Jack's Window, the first book in the Nani's Window series, a collection of gentle children's books inspired by her beloved grandchildren and written to help young readers discover the joy of words, sounds, and the world around them.
A longtime educator with more than 25 years in the classroom, Nancy has devoted her life to helping children find confidence in reading and in their own voices. Her teaching journey included St. James in Lakewood, Ohio, St. Raphael in Bay Village, Ohio, and public-school tutoring, where she became known for her patience, warmth, imagination, and gift for making every child feel seen. Nancy's love of phonics and storytelling shaped Jack's Window, a rhythmic early-reader story for children ages 2–8.
Through Jack's view of the everyday world outside his window, young readers encounter short-vowel word families, rhyme, observation, and playful language in a story designed for parents, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers to read aloud. At the heart of Nancy's work is a simple belief: reading is not just about learning words. It is about hearing them, feeling them, and discovering your own voice in the world. Jack's Window brings that belief to life with a teacher's heart and a grandmother's love.
The Nani's Window series grew from Nancy's desire to create a special story for each of her grandchildren. Each book opens a new window into childhood wonder, early literacy, family connection, and the small everyday moments that help children learn.
Nancy's vision extends beyond the page. Ten percent of every Jack's Window sale supports St. Aloysius–St. Agatha School in Cleveland through the St. Raphael parish partnership, reflecting her lifelong commitment to children, education, literacy, and community.
Nancy lives in Ohio, where her family, former students, and grandchildren continue to inspire the stories, sounds, and windows still to come.
