Danica Star, a journalist, enters the Vega Star system in October 2945 on a hunch. Danica watched as a dark shadow loomed over the planet Aremis shortly before the attack on Vega II began. Cries for help swept across the system, the Vanduul rained destruction across the planet, and brave soldiers failed to stop them. A rag-tag group of military ships scrambled hours before the second fleet arrived to aid the civilian evacuation, all while holding off the Vanduul long enough to get everyone out.
