Overview

"Inner, The Breath of God, Volume 1 by Ghassen Ghediri, is an epic book of poetry. The author's scope, the vividness of his imagery, and the profundity of his subject matter—such as God and love—make this book a wonder. I doubt that it is possible to read this book and not question many things in the reader's own life. Most everything that has in some way occupied or preoccupied us is here, as if the author knew all along. And the book gives structure and meaning to it. In this book, we are dealing with genius, and that is the author. His bold and many-faceted style and the flavor to his writing lend themselves to his thorough expression." — Editorial Review

Description

This book is my naked Soul. It's the heart of my heart. My flesh on a plate. My lives and my deaths. It's all I have. It's all I had. Inner, The Breath of God, Volume 1 is an epic poetic work divided into five sections, each with three subsections. While primarily in English, it flows across languages—French, Arabic, Latin, with traces of Spanish, Hebrew, and even ancient tongues. You'll encounter artistic expressions, unusual spellings, word variations and multilingual layers with meanings that shift and intertwine. There are references to sacred writings, ancient mythologies, stories, legends, places, numbers and creatures. Inner, The Breath of God, Volume 1 is an autopsy of the soul. A dissection of the spirit. A challenge to the status quo. It's a vision, a present, and a proposal. A secret spiritual map—inviting you to think, decipher, and comprehend universal notions such as God, the Self, human behavior, the cosmos, spacetime, love, emotions, faith, liberation, nature, and freedom. At its core, every word revolves around God Almighty. It emphasizes that the true treasure you've been searching for is right here. It's in you. It's You. This is a journey inward and outward. The words serve as translations of the Soul's conversation with the Beloved. The text is a spiritual tapestry, woven through poetry, prose, and occasional aphorism. I've remained faithful to my thoughts in the structure and flow. It's fluid, immersive, nonlinear—meant to reflect life: its unpredictability, changes, beauty, disruption, and mystery. It may pull you into the unknown, then return you to the known. It may appease, then enrage. It may provoke, then comfort. It may lift you, then drop you. It may be clear, then confusing. This book is the one You wrote.

About The Author

Ghassen Ghediri considers himself a student of Love. Humble is his pursuit of closeness to God—through Him to You, and through You to Him. He is a seeker, a listener, a believer, and a questioner. He believes we become poets and writers by accident. Then again, life itself might be the most wonderful accident. But do accidents really exist? For years, Ghassen found excitement in difficulties—challenges, competitiveness, intensity. He believed positions, degrees, titles, status, and money would equate to fulfillment, happiness, and freedom. That these were the markers of a meaningful life. He fed his ego, looking for validation from anyone and everyone. And yet, he is profoundly thankful for all the blessings and worldly successes God has bestowed upon him. With His infinite wisdom, God took him on a new, renewed, and different path—one He had been preparing him for all along, just as He does with all of us. An inner voice began growing louder, calling Ghassen to fulfill something untouched, sacred, and important—a dream. He began having deep conversations with family, friends, and close ones—questioning everything: God, religion, humanity, time, mortality, science, art, the universe...Some welcomed the dialogue—for a moment. Others felt uneasy. Some changed the topic. A few became irritated. That's when he began to write. At first, just scattered notes on his phone—thoughts, fragments, questions, maxims, ideas. Over time, the notes became prose. The prose became poems. What started quietly in his pocket grew into something he could no longer keep to himself. He emailed the notes to himself, compiled them, rearranged them, and then continued writing more intentionally on his laptop. That process began a few years ago. To this day, Ghassen still returns to his phone—to catch sudden insights, lines, aphorisms, the start of a prose piece or a poem before they fade. Sometimes he writes entire poems there, in one sitting. He believes every instant of inspiration should be captured when it comes. The words arrive naturally, spontaneously—and most of the time, he doesn't control the topic, the sequence, or the expression. Over time, he developed his own quiet rituals around this improvisational process. Interestingly enough, Ghassen is a corporate finance professional working for a large multinational company. His entire background is in accounting and finance. He holds a Doctorate of Business Administration, an MBA in Finance and Accounting, and a Master's degree in Accounting. He has always had an interest in reading about philosophy—particularly stoicism— cosmology, spirituality, theology, and mysticism. He has always had an incessant desire to find his true path, help others, and grow beyond the materialistic world. He loves words, languages, writing, nature, meditation, and silence. He is a nomad. He travels a lot—even when he doesn't.
