Overview
Singapore, MI went from booming lumber town to buried ghost town in the span of sixty years, and in that time through scandal and happenstance a fortune in gold coin was lost. Now the hunt is on and maritime salvor Jack Sheridan must sift through the historical clues to find the bounty before his deadly adversaries.
Description
The coins were trouble from the beginning, but twenty million dollars in West Michigan gold is a prize difficult for maritime salvor Jack Sheridan to ignore. Drawn into the hunt by an ex-lover, Jack begins assembling pieces of a puzzle scattered 150 years ago, and embarks on a white-knuckle venture that leads him across the expanse of the Great Lakes, down desolate streets of a lost city, and into the depths of his own storied past. Each step draws him deeper into conflict with others intent on seizing the gold for their own hidden purpose. What Jack finds in the end is more than he bargained for, and the adversary he must confront will force him to question everything he knows.
About the author
J Ryan Fenzel is a novelist who employs the character and history of Michigan and the Great Lakes region in his thriller/adventure titles. His debut novel, "Descending From Duty" (Ironcroft 2006) received widespread acclaim as a well-crafted and fast-moving submarine thriller that unfolds in the great inland seas surrounding Michigan. He followed up with "Inherit All Things" (Ironcroft 2009), a rollicking treasure hunt adventure built on historical records and accounts from Michigan's most intriguing ghost town, the buried village of Singapore. Continuing with his trademark blend of Great Lakes fact & fiction, Fenzel wrote "Allied In Irons" (Ironcroft 2012). The second book in the Jack Sheridan series, "Allied In Irons" follows a high stakes search for the wreckage of Northwest Flight 2501, an airliner that crashed into Lake Michigan in 1950 and was never found. Fenzel's story tackles the unsolved aviation mystery and fuses it with elements of intrigue and conspiracy. Working on his fourth novel, Fenzel resides with his wife and daughters in Southeast Michigan
