My Story, My Narrative

Overview
This book is the story of my life, and it's also about what I've learned along the way. I am not one dimensional; there are multi facets of who I am and it is my hope that as your read my narrative you will be able to relate to all or parts of my story.  "I'm that girl is the story of that girl who grew up in West Baltimore, that girl who earned a full ride to college on merit, that girl who just hoped to earn enough to not ask her parents for money, that girl who became a wife, mom, and tragically, a widow, and that girl who worked her way up in a fortune 200 company to become a Vice President. I am all those girls and more, and I'm fully honest about all sides of my life. Of course, I've made some mistakes along the way , but each one of them was a learning opportunity. I have also been fortunate to have several mentors who took me under their wing, gave me advice that I took to heart, and set me on a path to success. There is no greater joy for me now than doing the same for young people; especially Black women.  I'm That Girl is a collection of stories that I have shared with mentees throughout that have allowed them to see themselves in me and hopefully find encouragement as they make their journey through life.
