I See Color, I See You

As a white boy, Lincoln thought he did the right thing when he said skin color isn't a big deal, and it didn't matter that his classmate was Black. Confused as to why he upset his classmate, Lincoln came home upset from his first day of school and quickly ran off to his room. Wanting to know what was wrong, Lincoln's dad asked him if everything was okay. After expressing his feelings and sharing his wish to understand, Lincoln's dad apologized for not having important conversations about race with him sooner. Committed to doing better, Lincoln's parents create a space in their home where tough conversations and learning take place more often. It looks like school isn't the only place for learning!
