As a young girl growing up in Nigeria, Abike faced challenges that might have made another child give up hope. But Abike never did. She worked hard and achieved things people told her she never would. An inspiration to children everywhere, I Am Abike encourages them to do the right thing, work hard, and never stop pursuing their dreams.

Inspired by the experiences of a beautiful woman the author and her family were honored to affectionately call Mumsie, it is hoped that by sharing her story, children everywhere will be inspired to become anything they want to be.

Allison Okuneye lives in the United States with her husband, a Nigerian native, and their two children. Okuneye has a Bachelor's degree in English Literature Language and Writing with a minor in Communication from Eastern Michigan University. She is a business owner, fashion enthusiast and creative spirit. Inspired by her husband's cultural roots and her special relationship with her Nigerian mother-in-law, she wrote her debut book, I Am Abike.
