Overview
This is the story of a family living in Hollywood. The family suffered from the events of the so-called McCarthy era and two people lost their jobs. Many thousands of others did as well, but these two people fought back and won.
Description
During the Red Scare of the 1950s many thousands of people lost their jobs because of this national hysteria. This is the story of a sister and a brother who became victims of this hysteria. The sister lost her government job as a secretary at an Air Force base. The brother was fired as a photographer for MGM. Of the many those many thousands fired, the sister was one of just a few hundred who were reinstated with back pay and all benefits. The brother, who was a Communist Party member at one time, went on to sell a secret formula for making film highly light sensitive to the U.S. Army just as Senator Joseph McCarthy was investigated the army for Communist connections
