Part I: Early History

  • Earliest known history of the surname Hilgenhold (commonly spelled Hilgenholt) dating back to around the year 1600 near the Dutch-German border.
  • The oldest verifiable ancestor line, from approximately 1760, that can be traced down to Herman Hilgenhold.
  • United States immigration history of Heinrich Hilgenhold around 1854 followed by his mother and siblings in 1857.

Part II: Descendants of Herman and Mary (Bockhold) Hilgenhold

  • This section outlines the 11 children of Herman & Mary and the 7 subsequent descendant lines up to present day. There are over one-thousand descendants recorded and hundreds of photographs featured in the book.
