Guide to Waste Diversion

One of four children whose parents who moved out to San Diego after Ken’s father Billy served in the United States Navy. Both his father and mother Charlene grew up in the mid-west. Ken was born in 1963 at a time that the United States was in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War, Central Intelligence Agency being created, the JFK assassination, Space Race, and the Beatles recording their first single "Please Please Me". Growing up in San Diego had its perks. Not only was it known for being a military town, but was also home to the World Famous “San Diego Zoo” and great weather. Pre-technology prompted Ken to spend a majority of his time exploring local canyons, watersheds, gazing up to the heavens and playing baseball. It was during these times when he fantasized about beings an archeologist, astronomer or professional athlete. Prior to being old enough to work, Ken would go from house to house mowing yards and trimming bushes. At sixteen he was offered his first job working at the San Diego Zoo in their Sanitation department. It was during these years when he developed a passion for the environment, conservation and sustainability. In 2013 Ken published his first book called: “Land of Tranquility”. Although the story is fictional, its an adventure of a young man whose mission in life is to change the way we treat our planet. The effects of mankind have not only polluted our oceans and the over-use of fossil fuels warming up the planet causing Global Warming. But is has also damaged the “inner world”. A world that coexist with ours: The Garden of Eden. The purpose of the book is to teach us that we must take ownership of our daily activities when it comes to creating waste. The choices that we make do effect how much waste we generate. His new book, “Guide to Waste Diversion” for home and businesses is exactly what the title states.
