This is the story of Marina, a young girl who is deaf. In school, all the other kids make fun of her and never invite her to play or do anything with them because she is different. Marina befriends a frog that signs, who is also going through issues in his "frog" life. The journey begins on the friendship between Marina and Greenie ( the frog) . They teach each other how to overcome the harshness of not being accepted in a World where most people can hear. The story is fun and moving and brings awareness of those that are different and how we grow to accept others that are different in our lives. Marina and her family go through this amazing journey together with the help of a little green frog that signs....Greenie.

About The Author

I was born and raised in South Philadelphia in an Italian Neighborhood. I became deaf when I was 2 years old from Meningitis. I attended Catholic School for 10 years where they would kind of "force" you to speak. Sign language was not permitted. If you signed, you would get hit on your hand with a long pointer or long ruler by the Nuns. The Nuns are teachers...yet I am grateful for the discipline. That discipline allowed and continues to allow me to speak and read lips well. It also helps me to go farther in the hearing World. This story was written as part of my speech therapy in College which started out as a small paragraph. I saw it as a story and worked with my counselor to bring this story to life. I am married with a beautiful daughter and now I am on a new journey as an author. Nothing is impossible. Remember to rearrange the letters a little to "I'm Possible".
