After winning the World Championships blindfolded, Wilson was featured on the cover of Fighting Stars Magazine. He was later inducted into the World Martial Arts Black-Belt Hall of Fame in Asia, along with Bruce Lee, and the president of the Shaolin Temple of China, Master Shi De Qian.

Wilson produced the first and largest televised Black-Belt Competition in American History, the American Black-Belt Championships: Which had the highest payout in American Martial Arts Tournament History up to that moment.
