About The Author

Margaret Hazel Maloney Cronin was born in 1928 in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, the third of six children raised during the Great Depression. She later moved to Brooklyn, where she married Walter Eugene Cronin and became the mother of eight. In the chaos and joy of raising a large family, Margie used her storytelling skills to create peace, laughter, and lasting memories.

Her most beloved tale, Freddie the Frog, was told countless times with the help of a frog puppet and her signature warmth. Though Margie passed away in 1987, her legacy continues in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and now through this book, keeping her voice alive for generations to come.
