Overview
Red Light, Green Light is a short collection of poems that are "haunting in their simplicity" as they address societal and emotional issues that Miss Luongo feels need to be addressed. These include abuse, addiction, internet dating, the lgbtq+ community, equality, trust, and promiscuity in the modern world. Inkitt reviewers generally gave this book a five star rating saying "poems like these are meant to produce raw emotion and enjoyed for what they are at face value, and not to be dissected like some poor frog in Biology class".
Description
Red Light, Green Light is a short collection of poems that are "haunting in their simplicity" as they address societal and emotional issues that Miss Luongo feels need to be addressed. These include abuse, addiction, internet dating, the lgbtq+ community, equality, trust, and promiscuity in the modern world. Miss Luongo has faced all of these issues herself in one way or another during her summer before moving off to college, as she had more and more time to face the world and think about what she may or may not be leaving behind. Anyone, especially in a transitional period of their lives, can personally relate to the collection of "quality poetry" provided by Miss Luongo. This book in particular is posted on Inkitt.com and every reader seems to relate most to a different poem with every read. Inkitt reviewers generally gave this book a five star rating saying "poems like these are meant to produce raw emotion and enjoyed for what they are at face value, and not to be dissected like some poor frog in Biology class".
About the author
Sarah Luongo is a young writer and photographer. Flush is Sarah's first independent publication. She has reviewed books for Inkitt publishing, reviewed movies via Wordpress, and contributed works to Hitrecord. Sarah Luongo (1999- ) was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, where she lived all but four years. She spent those four years (2011-2015) living in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Sarah was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was only a year old. She has endured many struggles, yet, Sarah goes through life with a smile and confident attitude. While her first book is very touchy, deep, and personal to her with a focus on more romantic relationships, her second book is slightly lighter in tone and appeals to more societal issues that anyone and everyone can relate to. Sarah wrote this book the summer before going to study Media and Communications at Salem State University her freshman year of college in hopes of kickstarting her career.
