Lynn Hughes Akin, Ed.D., has been researching her family since the mid-1980s. She is a graduate of multiple universities with a doctorate in leadership and curriculum. In her 30-plus-year career as an educator, she has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. When not in the classroom, she researches genealogy in her spare time. This branch of her family tree can only be proven from 1684 to the present, but other branches have gone back further in time, and she plans to record those for posterity as well.
