Description

Experience mystery and thrills in this genre blending second book of the Motor City Murphy Murder Mystery series! In this follow up to The Guardian of Detritus, Jack Crost is a professor of sixties literature with a painful past who teaches the ideals of peace and love. His beliefs are tested when a series of vicious attacks cost him his job and his life – and then things get worse. After a near-death experience in the emergency room that includes an encounter with a famous TV puppet, his resuscitated life takes off in a wild new direction as he tries to figure out what's going on with the help of Murphy, a retired Detroit cop who served as an Army Ranger in Vietnam. From ruins to raves to the rooftops of Detroit, his pursuit of the truth leads him to a final deadly confrontation. This exciting and ambitious novel challenges readers by blending standard mystery themes with the paranormal. With Jack's near-death experience, only quantum physics can help him understand the complexities of what happened. Join Jack on his race to uncover the truth – as he embraces the youth culture philosophy of the sixties that he has taught for so long – love, altruism, honesty, joy, and nonviolence. A series of physical attacks makes nonviolence difficult to achieve. Along with the murder of his wife twenty years ago and the escalating hatred of modern times, the assaults fuel his passion. Now, instead of just teaching about hippies, he becomes one. Get ready for a story like no other as Jack and his unlikely group of companions seek to achieve justice and truth.
