Excuse You Pig For Burping So Big was inspired by Dave Utter and his "Utterisms"... Dave used to say it to my children when they were young (and still does now that they are older). It was fun to take the first line and develop it into a children's book that can be appreciated by kids and adults alike. I was thrilled that Tia Christiansen was able to illustrate the book. Excuse You Pig For Burping So Big was inspired by Dave Utter and his "Utterisms"... Dave used to say it to my children when they were young (and still does now that they are older). It was fun to take the first line and develop it into a children's book that can be appreciated by kids and adults alike.

It took a few months and edits to get the wording the way I wanted.  After writing, it took years to find an illustrator.  Originally, it was just for fun and I met with one or two illustrators but had not found one that could really bring our the style the book needed.  One illustrator did not like the content (thought it was inappropriate).  Finally, one of my business associates' daughter was going to be starting college in the Fall as an art major.  I suggested that she give it a go at some illustrating.  It did not pan out as she was busy getting ready for college.  He then suggested another woman in our office (Tia).  I gave Tia the book and she came back the next day with some initial sketches.  I knew right then that she was the person who could really bring out the words with additional imagination!

I have no doubt, Tia will have the chance to illustrate future children's books for many authors!  Tia has a great artistic talents.

About The Author

This is Sean’s first authored children’s book. By trade, Sean is a financial advisor and an owner of Retirement Benefits Group, LLC out of San Diego where he has authored or been quoted in many articles on retirement management. However, he is always embarking on special projects where he is a Board Member of the San Diego Bowl Game Association (for the Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl); has his private pilot’s license; is a referee for high school and youth football; plays drums and percussion at his church; and now author.

This is Tia’s first illustrated children’s book. Tia is a self-taught artist. Her work includes murals – specializing in 3D style murals, custom canvas paintings, portrait sculpting and faux finishing. This is the first illustration project she has undertaken. Her artistic style is diverse, allowing her to create pieces of art as the style and medium fit the desires of those commissioning her.
