Overview

It's 56 AD, twenty-six years after Christ's death and resurrection. Eutychus, a young man from Troy falls asleep during one of Paul's sermons and tumbles from the balcony. He's taken up dead but is soon revived. From there, he decides it's time to leave Troy and travel with Paul and his companion Silas to Judea, the land of Jesus. During his travels, Eutychus meets many other lesser-known Bible characters. Finding he has a talent for writing, Eutychus begins to write a book that tells their stories, as well as his own. His journeys take him from Jerusalem, up around the Sea of Galilee, and back to Jerusalem again. Along the way he meets a shepherd who saw the baby Jesus, a rich man who has decided to turn his life around by being generous to others, a former leper who turned around to say thank you, a man who once was lame but now leaps for joy, and many, many others. Back in Jerusalem, Eutychus boards an ill-fated ship that is taking Paul to Rome. Will the ship make it?

About The Author

Jay Bingham is a retired engineer who decided to become a writer. "I've always been a writer at heart," he insists. "It's like engineering, only with words and letters instead of with wires and resistors." Jay's greatest gift when it comes to writing is an imagination that often sees life's humorous side. He has a habit of seeing things and then wondering what's going on behind the curtain, what the real story is underneath, and what the every-day, mundane logistics behind a great fantasy might be. "When someone you admire appears to be deep in thought," he says, "They're probably thinking about lunch." A proud graduate of the University of Utah where he graduated Cum Laude, Jay was born and raised in Utah. He now lives happily in Maryland with his wife, a BYU graduate, and their dog Chrysanthemum, who may or may not have graduated from obedience school.
